In Tanjungkarya Village, Samarang Subdistrict, rain fell along with a tornado. As a result, a number of houses damaged by the wind.

"From the temporary data we received, there were 7 units of residents' houses damaged by the gust of strong winds," said Samarang police chief AKP Supian BJ to reporters in Tanjungkarya Village, Jalan Samarang on Saturday (12/29/2018).

The average damaged house on the roof was swept away by the wind. There are also houses damaged by falling trees.

Supian said, after the incident, his party together with the ranks of the Koramil and the government officials of Samarang Sub-district immediately jumped to the location to collect data and evacuate affected residents.

There were no victims of this incident, only the loss was estimated at tens of millions of rupiah.

"Every house is estimated to suffer a loss of IDR 5 million," he said.

Meanwhile, bad weather is expected to still occur in Garut. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) urges people to always be vigilant against disasters.
