KPU, Why is the Cardboard Sound Box?
Liputan Net. Jakarta - Three months before the 2019 General Election is held, KPU is in the spotlight. The effect of the election ballot box is made of water-proof cardboard, which some people call a cardboard ballot box.
There are fears that the ballot boxes will open opportunities for fraud. For example, unofficial ballots are smuggled into them. Also with cardboard boxes, it is feared that the ballot box will be easily damaged when distributed.
KPU Chairman Arief Budiman assured that even though it was made from waterproof carton, the ballot box of 2019 Election was strong and safe. The box can hold loads up to 70 kilograms. Even though after being filled with Election ballot papers, the maximum burden borne by the box is only 7 kilograms.

"For me, it is rather making it up because the use of ballot boxes with duplex materials is not the first," Arief said.

Arief said that the selection of watertight cartons for the electoral ballot box had been carefully calculated. Even before the simulation has been conducted for approximately six months.
